Joshua

My name is Joshua, I am a Mechanical Engineer having graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2015. My subject of Computer Aided Mechanical Engineering heavily relied on a strong level of applied mathematics problem solving. From secondary school my experience of both Standard Grade, Higher and Advanced Higher Math gave me an extremely strong platform to learn Applied Engineering Mathematics. I now work as a Project Engineer within the defence industry using my skills on a daily basis to provide engineering solutions.

From a personality point I have excellent people skills and this is something I am praised for within the professional environment.

Experience: I am now entering my second year of tutoring having tutored a student during 2017-18 year of Higher Mathematics.


During my own studies and now within the working environment I deliver a very methodical process driven approach to problem solving. I feel this enables you to fully understand the issue you are seeking to provide an answer to. This also allows for analysis of individual stages of a problem if an issue was to arise with the final outcome. This approach is one I have found to be beneficial as it allows the pupil/student to understand steps of mathematic problems identifying the strengths within a specific subject while targeting areas which may require further work in order to improve the overall quality.
