Information about Maria
Hi,
I am a class of 2019 Biomedical Sciences Honours graduate from Cardiff University, specialising in Anatomy. My degree was based on human cadaveric dissection so I am able to offer insightful lessons on Human Biology as well as, Molecular Biology, Physiology, Genetics & Development and Epidemiology at Degree level.
For GCSE and A-Level students, I can support with Biology, Chemistry and Psychology.
Being a native Russian speaker also, I would be able to provide lessons in both Russian and English or a hybrid of the two for accessibility!
I believe lessons should be bespoke and tailored to your learning preferences and/or needs or helping you work out how to best approach learning, so will take the time to establish this prior to planning my lessons.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: During my three years at University I worked as a tutor, mentor and student body representative for the student - staff panel. As a result, I have become well acquainted with understanding what my tutees need in order to meet pedagogical requirements that I have grasped through working closely with professionals. I will help you implement and/or refine learning and exam techniques and also offer a breadth of knowledge that will allow you to go beyond set curriculums, to instil a rewarding dedication and genuine interest in your subject.
I have worked with people of different ages, providing lessons at GCSE level, A-Level as well as Degree level. For students who wanted to excel, we were able to achieve top percentile results and equally, for those who needed a bit of support achieving their potential, we were able to work out how to get there and go beyond this.
I also have over three years worth of experience teaching people with learning difficulties and disabilities and would like to emphasise that I can make my lessons accessible to all!
In addition to supporting students with subject related matters, I have supported students throughout career choices and Dental/Medicine University applications (and UCAT) offering guidance and advice on how to place yourself in the best stance as a candidate. I can also advise on attaining work experience having worked in a Hospital setting and for St. John`s Ambulance for four years.
