Information about Cameron

Hey! I am a First Class final-year Mathematics undergraduate at the University of Cambridge, with 45/45 points in the International Baccalaureate as well as ten Level 9s at GCSE. I thoroughly enjoy teaching my subject and believe that Mathematics can be easily understood (and enjoyed!) by anyone when taught well.

How I Tutor:
A few days before the arranged lesson, I like to reach out to students and ask what areas in Mathematics the student would like to cover in the upcoming lesson so I can prepare accordingly.

During the lesson, I begin by covering the content of the area and seeing what the student already knows so I can identify any gaps in knowledge that I can help with. After covering the content-side of the Mathematics, I like to work through some practice questions with the student to make sure they not only understand the Mathematics, but can also apply it.

I also like to set practice questions for the student to attempt as homework after the lesson. I often advise the student to send me their work prior to the next lesson, so that I can go through any mistakes they made at the start of the following lesson if need be.

If desired, I can also help with university interview and examination preparation, such as the MAT and STEP.

Please feel free to reach out if you`d like any further information!

Availability: I am available all days at most times, so please reach out to check my availability.

Experience: I have a depth of experience in tutoring mathematics at GCSE and Sixth Form level. I founded and ran my school`s GCSE Maths Club whilst in sixth form, which aimed to help GCSE students who showed interest and potential in mathematics to achieve the top GCSE grades by challenging them with hard questions and helping them develop an analytic way of thinking about maths questions.

I have also tutored many individuals in the past, both at a GCSE and IB level, assisting both in teaching challenging concepts in mathematics as well as question-solving techniques by explaining difficult concepts in an clear and effective way. I also believe I am uniquely qualified to tutor Mathematics at both A-level and IB level, as I took IB Higher Level Mathematics at sixth form, and also taught myself the entire A-level Maths and Further Maths syllabus for the Cambridge maths entrance examinations.
