I was born and raised in Copenhagen by Danish parents and have been a Danish tutor for children (as young as 3) and adults - all levels - for 11 years.

Our family of five moved from Copenhagen to London in 2005. Our 3 children are bilingual (Danish and English) and I have worked as a childcare practitioner from 2011-2013 (NVQ Level 3) with children that have English as a second language (ESOL).


I graduated from Copenhagen Business School in German and English, and I have always been passionate about languages. I focus a lot on pronunciation but aim to make the learning process fun and relaxed.

The 1-1 lessons take place at my home in London or your home or office (extra cost for travelling applied) but recently lessons mainly take place on Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Lessons are a minimum of 90 min. but most students prefer two hour lessons.

For 3 years I volunteered every other Saturday at the Danish Church in London, teaching children between 9 and 14 years old Danish.

MY LESSONS & TEACHING STYLE
My teaching methodology is a learner-centred approach; i.e. task-based instructions - using role-play to bring about authentic communication - combined with tools to pronounce most words correctly to give the learners good confidence to practise. Lessons are a mix of speaking, reading and writing about family, daily routines, everyday situations, food and meals, transport, work etc.

Availability: Mainly weekdays - mornings, afternoons or evenings. Weekends negotiable.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: 35 years with my own three children; 2 years of working in ESOL nurseries in London; 10 years of tutoring 1-1 as well as teaching smaller groups in the city on online. Higher rates apply for bigger groups and companies.
