I have designed a unique and successful 11 Plus programme which has produced a pass rate of 95%. I specialise in literacy and working with Gifted and Talented pupils.

I am a teacher with over 15 years’ of teaching and tutoring experience. I have been involved in teaching children from Birmingham, Solihull, Shirley, Sutton Coldfield, Wolverhampton, Worcestershire, Leicester, Shropshire, Stafford and Coventry.


In addition to my teaching I provide a small group high-quality tuition service for pupils aged 7 to 11. I specialise in the 11 Plus exam with key attention to the requirements for exam preparation for all the Grammar and independent schools within the Birmingham and the West Midlands region. This includes the entrance tests administered by GL.


Ethos

I do not cherry pick top students to achieve a high pass rate and my selection involves a first come first served basis. I believe that every child deserves a chance at the opportunity to flourish in selective education. I have accepted students who have been dismissed by others through some form of assessment who have gone on to achieve grammar school places and even scholarships from the most competitive schools in the West Midlands.

I feel through hard work from both parents and child you can achieve your goals. I am very honest with my feedback and like i mentioned to many parents my tuition will hold them in good stead for their secondary education.

My approach is small groups to allows the pupils to interact with like minded peers and learn from each other.


Key Focus Teaching

Having a wealth of teaching experience to draw upon. I like to focus on number of key elements of teaching which includes stretching pupils, developing problem solving skills and getting the pupils to use higher order thinking skills. I do not subscribe to training students just to pass test, my approach is to equip student with the skills, knowledge, good study practice to enable them to pass any exam and skills they can take with them beyond school and to further education.


My tutoring commitment

I feel tutoring should yield noticeable results. So after a few months you should see an improvement in your child sets at school and hear some positive feedback from their school teacher. In addition you should see an improvement in your childs study preparation, focus and confidence.

Availability: Sessions are held on Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoon.

Experience: I am a Qualified Teacher with 15 years teaching experience. I have comprehensive knowledge of the 11 Plus exam. Over the years, I have developed a tried and tested methodology of rotational study that systematically builds up each subject layer by layer. I have developed a successful 3 year programme which has consistently produced students who have achieved scores of 250 and above. I also specialize in teaching Gifted and Talented pupils. This involves stretching pupils and developing their problem solving skills.
