Hello and thanks for checking out my page. My name is Laura and I recently graduated from Oxford University after studying English Language and Literature at Undergraduate Level.

I look forward to bringing my enthusiasm and passion to whatever subject my tutee wishes to explore.

I have a wide range of interests outside of my immediate subject, I take a keen interest in music, art, theatre and film and have done some work on how these areas intersect with literature. I am an avid comedy fan, I enjoy improv and I am a member of the Oxford Revue.

Availability: I am flexible with timings and will usually be able to find a time that works for me and my client.
I have some availability during the evenings but prefer to tutor between 9am and 5pm. I have some availability during the weekends.

Experience: I have been tutoring for the past three years and have gained ample experience working with students of various ages and abilities. I am comfortable tutoring at every level, but below is a list of my areas of expertise.



11+ and 13+

The 11 and 13+ exams are often very important milestones in a child’s educational journey. Whether you’re starting revision early, or you just want some extra help in the final push – I can help. I enjoy helping students prepare for these exams, because the sessions are very focused. It’s satisfying to have a clear goal in mind and work towards it. In sessions I switch the focus between; composition, comprehension, spelling, grammar and reading. I have experience with helping students apply for top schools.

GCSE and A-Level

I have worked with students at both GCSE and A-Level to support them in their studies, to help with essay writing and exam preparation.


Degree- Level

I have worked with several university students on their essays; it’s something I really enjoy. I have experience with; editing, proofreading, developing ideas, essay writing technique etc. I have found that online tutoring works really well for university students. All the students I’ve worked with have achieved 1sts and high 2:1s in all their work.

Personal Statements

I’ve worked with several students to craft excellent personal statements. This process is really fun! Personal statements are just that – personal. I love working with students to find out what is unique about their relationship to their chosen subject. Once we’ve found this uniqueness, we work on crafting a statement that really makes them stand out from other candidates. All the students I’ve worked with have received offers from all of their chosen universities!

Oxbridge Entrance

I have successfully coached a student for her interview at Oxford to read English.
