Experienced teacher of Latin, Classical Civilisation, Ancient History and English at Primary, GCSE and A-Level. My students achieve excellent results, develop in confidence and enjoy their learning.

I also tutor and help young people to pass their Eleven Plus.
I offer a structured and engaging approach; lessons are carefully adapted to the needs of the learner.
I have been a Tutor and Mentor for many years and offer help with motivation, exam /study skills and effective organisation. I also offer advice on Higher Education progression.
Availability: I am flexible but mainly weekday evenings and weekends.
Also, I offer a Latin language / Classics
summer school. It is good for all ages and explores language and culture. Latin helps improve literacy skills and it is very good preparation for many other languages.

Experience: 25 years teaching Classical subjects and English in schools and through tutoring; my specialisms include Common Entrance, Scholarship, GCSE and A-Level.
I am currently Head of Classics in a school and sixth form college.
Further, I have been an examiner for many years.
I have also taught Special Educational Needs for Birmingham City Council; my expertise is dyslexia support.
