I am a Cambridge University English Literature and CELTA graduate offering support in the following areas:
*English as a Second Language (adult and young learners; all levels)
*English Literature up to and including A Level
* UCAS Personal Statement writing support
* English Language up to and including GCSE
* Mathematics up to and including GCSE
* Primary school subjects
* Primary School and Secondary School entrance examinations (7+, 11+, 13+)

I understand the importance of finding a tutor that works best for the student. Therefore, during the first session, I will establish the needs of the student, so that I can tailor my tuition to their needs and interests, therefore optimising their attainment.

Availability: I have flexible availability across evenings and weekends. I am currently based in New Cross and willing to tutor students in-person at your home, provided you live within reasonable (~40 mins) cycling or public transport commute and cover my expenses. Alternatively, I also offer online tuition.

Experience: Having graduated with a degree in English Literature from the University of Cambridge last year, I am currently working in South London as an ESOL Lecturer (further education college) and Learning Support Assistant (secondary school). In March 2025, I completed a Certificate in English Language Teaching, the industry-standard qualification for teaching English as a Foreign Language

However, I believe that the bulk of my experience comes from having succeeded when being in the same position as many of my tutees. (11+ exam preparation, GCSE preparation and A Level preparation). However, I do also have experience tutoring for 11+ and GCSE exams both online and in-person.

In the past, I have supported students with various educational needs and backgrounds for 11+ exams, GCSE English. Thanks to my 11+ English tuition, one of my students received an offer from her first-choice of grammar school as well as receiving scholarships from selective private schools in London.

Over the past two years, I have also undertaken access and outreach work with the Cambridge University Admissions Office, working as a mentor for students applying to study English at Cambridge University. I provided support throughout the application process, including detailed feedback on applicants` personal statements and interview advice. Many of my mentees received offers to study at Cambridge.
