I am a fully qualified teacher and examiner with over 20 years of teaching experience across both state and independent schools. I specialise in 11+ preparation, GCSE English Language and Literature, GCSE Humanities subjects, and A Level History.

As an experienced classroom teacher, Head of Department and examiner, I understand both how students learn best and what exam boards are looking for. I have been an examiner since 2007, which gives me strong insight into exam technique, mark schemes and how students can improve grades effectively.

My lessons are calm, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I particularly enjoy helping students who lack confidence, feel anxious about exams, or need a different approach to learning. I also have extensive experience supporting students with SEND, dyslexia and SEMH needs.

I aim to make lessons engaging and structured while building both subject knowledge and confidence. Whether a student needs support catching up, preparing for exams, or aiming for top grades, I adapt lessons carefully to help them succeed.

Availability: I currently combine private tuition with examiner work and flexible teaching roles, which allows me to offer daytime and after-school tuition sessions.
