Information about Jonathan

Hi!

My name is Jonathan, I`m 26 years old and I am a graduate from the University of Loughborough and The University of Nottingham in Management Science and Marketing respectively.

I am fully bilingual and hold a French-British dual nationality. I was born and raised in France, near the Swiss border, where I studied for an International Option Baccalaureate (IOB) that I obtained with distinction. The IOB is the French equivalent of A-Levels with the addition of some international subjects such as English Language Literature and English History-Geography.

I am also an ambitious rower with aspirations of representing Great Britain at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. I have been training full time ever since I graduated from my masters in 2014, and I am currently training in Reading with the aim of joining the GB squad during this season.

I consider myself as a very open and friendly person and I am determined to help any student of any level to reach their goals, whether it is to overcome certain difficulties or achieve excellence. I believe that being fully bilingual, and having studied/worked in both French and English puts me in the best position to teach French to English pupils.

Availability: I`m available weekdays from 4PM to 9PM

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have tutored several friends and students offering help with their French courseworks and examinations (written and oral) during my 4 years at Loughborough University. I was able to build their confidence and put them in a position where they could achieve their goals. The student I am most proud of managed to get a first for an important final year oral test after a sketchy start to her academic year.

I am certain that I will be able to replicate this successful teaching method to GCSE and A-level students for them to build confidence, increase their understanding of the language, and work on weaknesses in order to achieve their goals.
