Information about Sarah
I am a friendly patient person who enjoys tutoring and helping to find ways to convey and teach others about key concepts. In my job as a university level researcher, I have gained extensive knowledge, enthusiasm and real life examples about the topics I teach.
Availability: Evenings Tuesday-Thursday. Occasional weekends.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: I have a PhD and MSc in psychology and statistics (King`s College London) and BSc in Neuroscience (Bristol university). I have vast experience in tutoring biology and psychology at GCSE, A-Level, BSc and MSc level. I have a good knowledge of all the exam boards and can help prepare for coursework, general learning or exams.
Although exam success is my top priority, I also aim for students to develop a broader understanding of scientific concepts and a sense of how a specific topic fits into the wider body of knowledge. I believe the best results come from genuine engagement with and enjoyment of a subject. Biology and psychology are subjects I find endlessly fascinating, and studying them has led me to a career that I love. I hope I can share my enthusiasm with my students and build their confidence. I understand that people develop at different paces so I always tailor my lessons according to the needs of the student. I am a friendly, positive person who takes a patient and practical approach to teaching.
