Information about Hira

I am looking to tutor students studying biology or chemistry at GCSE level, or A-level biology. I can also provide university application and personal statement support for college students.

I am a 22 year old, female postgraduate student starting my MSc in Reproductive and Developmental Biology at Imperial College London. I studied Biomedical Science for my undergraduate and achieved first class honours. I also won awards from both Royal Holloway, University of London and The Royal Society of Biology, in recognition of my final year educational research project.

I have previous tutoring experience of ages 10-18, teaching biology and chemistry from KS3 to GCSE and A level biology.

I am passionate about biological sciences and enjoy supporting others with their learning. Having studied biological sciences to undergraduate level, I have an extensive understanding of the subject. I also tailor my lessons to each student as I understand that every student learns differently, and use these differences to be able to best support them.

Availability: I am available Monday to Sunday. Timings will vary in accordance with my timetable.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: My current tuition experience includes tuition with MyTutor, in which I provide online support for KS3 children, and an Outreach Leader for Imperial College London, which involves leading in-person workshop sessions and inspiring children in STEM.

I have mentored undergraduate students throughout my second and final years of BSc, often leading revision sessions and providing advice throughout their undergraduate careers. I have volunteered with university-run educational activities and undertook an educational research project in my final year, which involved creating and utilising educational materials with students of primary and secondary ages.

I have written two successful personal statements for both my BSc and a competitive MSc, and my English is of a high standard. I have provided ongoing support to A level and BSc students with essay editing and marking.
