Information about Rosie

**ONLINE ONLY**

Hello!

My name is Rosie and I am a qualified Teacher of English with over 8 years` experience working in schools in a range of roles.

Please do not be alarmed by the lack of reviews currently - I have been fully booked for the last two years via word of mouth, so have not needed to use tutoring platforms! I now have some spaces available due to my current YR11 tutees finishing their exams. I am looking for regular, weekly students, however, I do run ad-hoc sessions in the school holidays or for GCSE revision.

Why book with me? As a qualified teacher, I not only have in-depth subject knowledge, but also the theory and practical experience of teaching and learning. I offer a high-quality tuition service, whereby every lesson is tailored to the individual needs of your child. My tuition service includes:

- `word of the week` activity for advanced vocabulary learning
- homework
- parent feedback every six weeks
- model answers
- past papers/exam questions (GCSE)
- access to revision materials (GCSE)

I have experience in teaching and tutoring the new English Language and Literature specification for AQA and Eduqas, alongside teaching the KS3 curriculum to years 7-9. I specialise in KS2/3 literacy skills after delivering a literacy programme aimed at developing reading ages and comprehension skills.

Through pastoral roles and responsibilities, I have mentored and tutored students in English, but also in career options and in post-16 and post-18 decisions. I can also support with structuring, proofreading and editing personal statements and other assignments, such as university essays/theses.

I pride myself on being able to connect with young people whilst building a strong rapport needed to achieve great results, whilst also ensuring that lessons are engaging and fun. Boosting confidence is key to my sessions and I hope to empower the young people to take ownership of their learning whilst guiding them along their educational journey.

Please do get in touch for a virtual chat over a cup of tea to learn more about myself and my passion for inspiring a love of learning!

*Previous experience in tutoring students in Year 5 through to Year 11*
