I am Peruvian (native Spanish speaker), married to an English man. I enjoy listening to music, walking and painting nature. I am environmentally aware.
I have completed my Master Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
I always try to make my lessons enjoyable by good preparation and the use of techniques appropriate to the students` needs. I try to make them aware of the potential they have inside themselves.

Experience: I have worked as an English teacher in primary and secondary schools in Peru for 8 years. I have taught English to undergraduate university students for 2 years, also in Peru. I have tutored Spanish to primary students, as well as many foreign students.
My teaching has always been based on the uniqueness of my students, and their different learning styles.

Maria is an excellent teacher, always very kind and encouraging. I have only had a few lessons with her but already feel a lot more confident in speaking and understanding Spanish.

Having never learnt Spanish before, I started lessons with Maria as a complete beginner. I was expecting to learn some basic phrases before moving to a Spanish speaking country.
From the very first lesson, Maria was completely focussed on my best possible learning outcome. She was sensitive to my ideas about which topics to cover, and supplemented these with suggestions about what would be most helpful for me to learn. She subsequently created a lesson schedule which put my general interests into specific grammatical contexts. She made sure that the lessons were centred around practical and personal language which I could put into practice as soon I moved.
She is a clear and methodical educator with seemingly endless patience. The level of care Maria shows for her students is evident in the amount of time she puts into creating, making and tailoring exercises for her individual students’ needs. I can honestly say that I have never come into contact with a more hard-working educator. She goes above and beyond to ensure that her students are being supported, encouraged, and challenged.
In the two months we’ve been working together my competency in Spanish has improved far beyond my expectations, and my confidence in my language abilities is much greater than I would have thought possible. Maria is a truly outstanding teacher. I feel very lucky to have been taught by and to have met her. Muchas gracias por tu ayuda Maria.
