`Luke has been a fantastic help to my son who is studying AS Economics. At very short notice Luke was able to quickly and efficiently tackle my sons problem areas with only a matter of weeks to go before he sat his exam. Luke’s teaching style and positive approach was great and my son found him engaging and very easy to understand. Luke helped him tremendously and I would not hesitate at all to recommend`.

I have good experience as a private tutor, particularly in Economics where I have recently guided the revision and exam preparation of two AS Economics students. I am also experienced in editing and critiquing essays and other writings up to degree-level, with experience editing and adding clarity to undergraduate disserations.

During my A-levels, I spent a year working part-time at Kumon monitoring and aiding the Maths and English work of dozens of children of varying ages and abilities. At Kumon, the emphasis was upon encouraging self-motivated learning in the students, and I learnt from this experience to instil confidence in the students of their ability to solve problems using the skills and ideas they had been taught.

While at University in Nottingham I spent two years volunteering at the Lenton Centre, working at their Activ8 Uth after-school clubs with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds . In this position I was required to act as a role model, often engaging with children with behavioural or learning difficulties.

I have recently returned from 3 months spent in Tamil Nadu, India with a Development NGO where my work in the field of education and livelihoods included the planning and delivery of school sessions and college workshops offering career guidance, CV writing and interview skills. During the programme I also launched and ran clubs working with the young people there to engage their sense of civic participation and personal confidence.
