Niamh

Hi, my name is Niamh and I am a fully qualified Maths teacher. I graduated in 2014 after studying Maths and Education in Galway, Ireland and worked full time as a teacher until July 2023.
After this I decided to seek new challenges and began on a graduate scheme as a data analyst for the Civil Service. I have now completed my MSc and will graduate this summer, July 2026.
I have always been passionate and enthusiastic about maths and have been a tutor for over 10 years.

I would describe myself as patient, friendly and approachable person. My students were always happy to ask me for help during lessons. I can cater for different students of varying ability and learning style. I am confident that I can help students improve their subject knowledge as well as their confidence in maths. I am more than willing to go over a topic as often as the pupil needs, as I appreciate that maths does not come easy to everyone.

My philosophy is to make sure my students fully understand the basic concepts of the subject first. I believe this is vital to their success in maths. I use past GCSE exam papers and questions to consolidate learning and show students what is expected of them in a test/exam.

Availability: I am available weekdays (in the evenings) and weekends

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I spent 10 years teaching every year group from year 7 up to year 11. I have taught every ability in maths - from top set classes who are working towards grades 7/8/9 to lower ability classes who are working towards a grade 4 in order to pass the subject. I have had great success with pupils and every student I have tutored has made progress.
