Information about Advitha

I’m a 3rd Year Medical Student at the University of Exeter with over three years of tutoring experience and a proven track record of academic excellence. I achieved a Dean’s Commendation in the 2024–25 academic year (top 10% of my cohort) and attained the highest score in my year for my SSC. I also scored 44 points in the IB Diploma—a result achieved by just 1.1% of students worldwide.

Alongside my medical studies, I hold Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), a national recognition of teaching and educational practice in higher education. This was awarded following a structured teaching and reflection process centred on five complex Neuroanatomy sessions I designed and delivered for medical students.

With a background in healthcare and a deep understanding of academic pressures, I offer students a fresh, relatable perspective on how to study effectively and excel in exams. I’ve taught learners at all levels—from school-age students preparing for entrance exams and GCSEs/IGCSEs, to fellow medical students tackling advanced anatomy and physiology topics.

I tutor a range of subjects, including:

- Secondary Entrance Exam Preparation
- GCSE/IGCSE Maths (including Additional Maths), English, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics
- Medical School Preparation (UCAT, Interviews, Personal Statement advice)
- General Exam Support and Study Skills

I enjoy working with all learners and tailor each session to individual needs, ensuring progress is measurable and confidence-building. I genuinely believe every student can thrive with the right strategy—and I’m here to help make that happen.

Experience: I began my teaching journey at KUMON, where I spent over a year teaching Maths and English to students of varying ages and abilities. This experience helped me develop strong communication skills and the ability to adapt my teaching style. Building on this foundation, I transitioned into private tutoring, where I’ve now delivered over 450 hours of one-on-one lessons across a wide range of subjects and levels.

In addition to school-level tutoring, I also have experience teaching advanced medical topics—such as neuroanatomy and the respiratory system—to fellow medical students, allowing me to explain complex content in a clear and accessible way. I hold an Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), which is a national recognition of teaching and educational practice in higher education. I received this after completing a structured programme of teaching and reflection based on five complex Neuroanatomy sessions I designed and delivered for medical students.

Academically, I achieved straight 9s in all IGCSEs, 44 points in the IB Diploma, placing me among the top 1.1% of students globally. Now in my second year of medical school at the University of Exeter, I received a Dean`s Commendation. Having recently completed these exams, I bring a fresh and relatable perspective to study strategies and exam preparation—especially for students still adjusting after the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

My daughter was really struggling with English GCSE. Within the first lesson she had better understanding. By the 3rd lesson her confidence in the subject had grown. Her grades have improved also. I highly recommend.
