Experience: I have been a Primary teacher for over 16 years and a personal tutor at my previous school, specialising in the 11+. I have excellent subject knowledge of the primary frameworks and the 11+ examinations. I can teach to a wide spectrum of learning needs by using different techniques to help children learn.
I have been a teacher and deputy head in both of the schools that I have worked in.
I have achieved outstanding in all my observations, including several OFSTED inspections. I have also helped many students gain outstanding SAT results. I have also helped students with their 11+ examinations, having a great success rate in helping student gain a place at their desired secondary school.
I have been a personal tutor for KS1, KS2 and 11+ students.
My main skills lie in creating motivational and engaging tutoring sessions, challenging pupils to extend their knowledge and application of subject areas.
I am a firm believer in the every child matters policy and understand that every child learns differently, so I adapt my sessions to the individual. In my initial meeting with the student I would assess their gaps in knowledge and assess what level they are currently working at. I would then put an individualised working plan together for that student so they had aims and targets and understand what they need to do to achieve. During each session I would use many different methods of teaching and varied tasks to ensure the students concentration/enjoyment levels remain at a high level.
