Having taught English since 2011, I am experienced and passionate about helping students achieve their goals and develop in confidence and ability. My love of teaching is coupled with strong subject knowledge and I have a Master’s in Shakespeare and Education.

I have worked as a Head of English in both the state and independent sector and taught a variety of specifications at GCSE, iGCSE and A Level (both in classrooms and online) and am an examiner for AQA.

Additionally, I have experience of writing and marking entrance exams for private schools and, having worked in a grammar school for 7 years, have in-depth knowledge of 11+ grammar school entrance exams.

English is a subject which has the power to stimulate intellectual and emotional curiosity and as such, lessons should always act as a safe place in which students can question freely and explore concepts, develop skills, and discover passions. Lessons are always tailored to the specific needs of individual students, and I am always keen to recommend wider reading!
