Qualified Maths teacher with 5+ years teaching experience and currently working in a TOP 1% RANKED SCHOOL BASED ON PROGRESS-MADE. I have taught in 3 schools around west London and have held various roles including Assistant Director of Learning, Head of Year 12 and Assistant Curriculum Leader. I am currently about to take my 7th Year 11 cohort to their GCSE exams.
I am fully aware and up to date of the adjusted requirements and demands of the new GCSE specification and have taught between the transition from the "old" to the "new" style papers. I have edited the GCSE scheme of work for my current school to ensure it is accessible to all students whilst I have also written the scheme of work for those students aiming to complete their GCSE in a one year timeframe.
I will be embarking on the second year of my Masters degree and have decided to take a year sabbatical, hence my availability to tutor.
I believe that it is important to create an enjoyable learning environment in which my students are comfortable expressing themselves, thus providing a platform where they can acquire a much more comprehensive understanding of mathematics. My lessons are adapted to the need of each student and scaffolds are in place when necessary, to ensure they are make steady progress.
I have experience and work well with:
- Underperforming students, perhaps due to confidence issues, stress, anxiety, school absence, behaviour or emotional problems.
- Highly performing students that require a tutor to stretch their understanding of mathematics, achieve a higher grade, or to give them a thorough understanding of mathematics as a whole to progress further.
Current students range from KS3 - KS5 (11 - 19 years old).
I have a full DBS enhanced disclosure, hold qualified teacher status and can provide a CV, qualification certificates on request.

[My daughter] had always struggled in maths and found it difficult at times. She really tries her best and applies herself to your lesson. I just wanted to let you know that [she] is really enjoying and leading a lot in her maths class. Thank you for showing interest in the students. I thought parents are so quick to complain that I felt a compliment should also be given for all your hard work you put into your work. (23rd Nov 2017)

review(s) for Perry.
Perry teaches my home schooled son KS3/GCSE maths. He is a professional, personable and experienced teacher. Perry is very familiar with the demands of the new Maths GCSE syllabus because of his high school teaching experience. He can readily adapt his teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and is good at building confidence and tutor/student rapport. I thoroughly recommend him.
