Information about Suzanne
I enjoy teaching and respond to the pupils needs and personality so that they can feel confident to make progress whilst happy learning.
Am available to teach and support pupils with English and Maths as well as prépare them for the Kent test and their onward journey into secondary school.
Availability: Mon, Tues Thurs, daytime and evening

Experience: As an experienced teacher I have been working within primary education for 25 years across the curriculum and have a very sound knowledge in teaching English and Mathematics.
As I am now semi-retired, I am able to enjoy the opportunity to work on a 1:1 basis with my pupils to extend their learning and develop confidence in the core subjects as well as supporting pupils in preparation for the Kent test.
Having worked also as a SENCO I can also offer 1:1 tutoring for SEN pupils . I have gained a range of resources and interventions that can support students in their learning to make progress.

Suzanne has been tutoring my son for the past 10 months and has been exceptional. He had difficulties with concentration, independent learning and attentiveness which had affected previous learning strategies and so when looking for support, I noticed that Suzanne had SENCO experience and was willing to work with students with special needs. At our very first meeting, we were made to feel very welcome and Suzanne immediately picked up some key features of his learning abilities and difficulties. My son came out of his first session relaxed and very happy. Subsequently, Suzanne agreed to review previous observations and learning strategies in order to gain greater insight into his learning and development. Throughout his tutoring with Suzanne, he has remained happy and has progressed well in all areas. Suzanne was able to pick up when he became distracted or fatigued and adjust the learning plan for that session accordingly, still ensuring that he was developing in all areas. There have been times when he has felt anxious or despondent about his abilities and Suzanne has been able to reassure him and help him find positives in his ability. The main purpose of his sessions were to support him with his knowledge, learning strategies and capabilities, with a plan to see if he would be able to sit the Kent and Dover tests. He was able to sit both tests with a greater confidence in his ability to be able to manage his focus and tackle the questions as best he could within the time allowed. Whatever the outcome, this development continues to support him during his final year at primary school and has enabled us to look at how further to support him going forward. If you would like a tutor who will be patient, listen, adapt techniques to meet your child`s needs, understand and take a genuine interest in them and your concerns for them and help them to make the best of themselves, then I would certainly recommend Suzanne as a tutor to you.

Very friendly! Very patient, especially on the first visit when my Son was shy. Suzanne is making a world of difference to my Son`s learning and he looks forward to going each week. Highly recommended!
