Experience: I have taught Year 1 and Year 2 extensively. My teaching was consistently judged to be outstanding and I excelled at both supporting struggling learners and pushing higher attainers. I was an expert in Integrated Learning; learning based on experience and play. I regularly lead training days for students from the IOE, UCL and was hired by outside schools to train their teachers in this hands-on approach to learning. I also mentored new and student teachers.
As Growth Mindset leader, I devised a whole school initiative to develop confidence and resilience in young learners. This included training all staff and working with children from 3 -11 years old. I also ran parent workshops and supported individual parents to understand the concept of Growth Mindset and how they could develop this at home.
As Phase Leader for Year One and Two, I oversaw teaching and learning and progress improvement for all pupils. I prepared staff and pupils for the KS1 SATS and Phonics tests.
This role also involved supporting teachers to ensure all children`s academic and emotional needs were met at school.
I was in charge of working with EYFS and KS2 Leaders. Sharing skills and understanding different approaches to learning ensured that all learning could be amended to suit children`s needs regardless of age and attainment level.
