After completing my degree at university; I decided to get an additional teaching qualification to teach English to international students to give me some diversity whilst building my career in finance. I really enjoy seeing students respond to my teaching and make progress. For this reason I would often volunteer in schools if I had some spare time to share my advanced skills in both maths and English. In addition to having excellent maths and English skills, I really enjoy doing puzzles using the exact same skills as the 11+ Kent Test. As a former grammar school student who passed an 11+ exam myself, I get great personal satisfaction in helping children pass the exam and qualify for a place at grammar school by sharing my knowledge, skills and experience with them.

My wife is a fully qualified and very experienced teacher and together we now run our own 11+ Kent Test classes with amazing pass rates. We work together in these classes breaking down all the content of the 11+ Kent Test, one subject and theme at a time. In addition to these classes we both also do some additional individual 1-1 tutoring, to prepare individuals for the Kent Test in the same manner as our classes, as we both have a great passion for this particular for of teaching.

The combination of my experience tutoring for the Kent Test and my extensive knowledge of its content and how it is assessed means you can have confidence that if you choose me, with enough time to fully prepare your child for this exam, that your child will have covered all the aspects of the test and have had plenty of practice, I am well-resourced for this, and I will be able to accurately give you a percentage of what your child is achieving in each area in the allotted time, furthermore if there are any particular weaknesses, be assured I will address this specifically, always with a focus on achieving an overall pass mark that will make your child eligible for a Kent grammar school.

Availability: I work a mixture of after-school appointments in the week and some at the weekend, furthermore, I am one of a handful of tutors who is willing to offer both online and in-person tutoring at your home if you prefer and live within Swale or the Medway area.
