I’m an LSE MSc (Distinction) graduate offering tuition in Politics, Psychology, Philosophy, English Literature, Sociology, and Mandarin at GCSE and A-level.

Teaching style & lesson approach
My lessons are structured, focused, and interactive. I combine clear exam preparation with active discussion, encouraging students to explain their reasoning, justify their answers, and develop confidence in their thinking. I place a strong emphasis on essay structure, evaluation, and clarity of argument, as these are often what make the biggest difference to grades. Lessons are challenging but supportive, and always adapted to the student’s confidence level and goals.

Subject knowledge & specialisation
I have strong subject knowledge across essay-based humanities and social science subjects. I’m familiar with the main UK exam boards (AQA, OCR, Edexcel) and their GCSE and A-level specifications, including assessment objectives and mark schemes. I help students understand what examiners are looking for in high-scoring responses, from planning essays and developing evaluation to revising content efficiently.

As a student of developmental and educational psychology, I am deeply passionate about supporting students to grow and develop their abilities and confidence in a structured and supported environment.

Availability: I am available on request, typically in the evenings of weekdays and all day on weekends.

Experience: I was personal tutor, twice a week, to a ten year old boy with learning difficulties for one year. This experience taught me great patience and flexibility to make learning as smooth and enjoyable as possible. I was English teacher to twin girls and a ten year old boy in Taiwan for a year whilst on my year abroad.
I have tutored my younger sister`s friends in A-levels in philosophy and English literature.
