I graduated from Oxford University in July 2017 with a BA in English. I then went on to win an academic scholarship to study for a Masters in English at the University of St Andrews, graduating with a Distinction. As I am currently based in London, I will be available to tutor online, in London and, during the holiday breaks, in Glasgow.

Having been educated through the Scottish curriculum and examined through SQA exams, I am familiar with the kinds of skills examiners are looking for, especially in close reading, essay writing and creative and persuasive writing. Since October 2017, I have privately tutored students of all abilities and levels, ranging from Primary to National 5 and Higher.

I understand that English can be a very tricky subject, which is why it is so important for me to be patient, diplomatic and empathetic in a learning environment. Equally, I also know how enjoyable and liberating English can be: I want to encourage others to see this side of it by making my lessons as interesting as possible. Above all, I aim to work in a way which best suits the varied needs and individual styles of different students.

Availability: I am available Monday to Sunday, during the days and evenings. I can do however many hours are necessary for individual students.

Since October 2017, I have tutored students in preparation for their National 5 and Higher exams. This involved working with past papers, marking instructions, textbooks and literature exercises.

During the summer of 2017, I taught pupils aged 9-12 at a summer school in England.
