I am a 45 year old, male teacher, originally from Liverpool. I teach at an OFSTED rated Outstanding secondary school. I currently teach A-Level and GCSE Computing. I have taught Maths at secondary school level and I am capable of teaching to GCSE level having previously tutored adult and child learners in the subject.

Prior to becoming a teacher I achieved a 2.1 degree in Materials Science and Engineering (on my profile it`s down as Mechanical Engineering as my degree was not offered as a choice on this website and that degree shared a lot of components).

I also spent ten years working all over Europe as a programmer, working for small businesses, large businesses and multinational organisations such as the European Commission and NATO. I was known to create websites, databases and desktop applications in these roles.

Availability: Due to an increasingly hectic schedule I am unable to take on any more tutees at this time.

Experience: 11 years experience in secondary education including teaching ICT and Computing up to A-level and Maths to GCSE level.

10 years experience as a programmer, web developer, database designer, IT trainer.

The past couple of years have been a great success for me with all of my tutees achieving excellent results as follows:
1) A year 11 pupil previously getting E/F grades in GCSE Maths (AQA), needing a C to get into sixth form. She achieved a C grade on the Foundation paper and is going to sixth form.
2) A Year 11 pupil struggling with programming achieving an A* in GCSE Computing (OCR)
3) A year 11 pupil needing a pass in Maths GCSE, struggling to get grade 4/5 but ending up with a good grade 6 in the end and going on to do her A-Levels.
