Information about Lauren

I am an experienced, attentive and patient tutor with strong academic credentials. I have achieved:

- Four A* grades in A-Level maths, physics, further maths and an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) achieving 98 % average across maths and further maths.
- Four A grades at AS in chemistry, physics, maths and further maths
- Nine A*’s and two A’s at GCSE.

My tutoring style has resulted in strong exam results for my students, as well as instilling academic confidence, capability to deal with pressure and an aptitude for problem solving. I have an adaptable teaching method that takes into account the unique personality, ability and requirements of the student. I have taught all ranges of abilities from those needing emphasis on core material to those looking to be pushed further than the curriculum.

I aim to provide personally-tailored lessons that are engaging and interactive and focus on the pupil feeling comfort so they can take part. Whilst the academic knowledge is important, the ability to manage time successfully; revise effectively; to think critically and logically; cope under stress are all equally as imperative in securing satisfying exam results. I aim to make sure my lessons reflect this.

I am greatly familiar with how the attainment of exam results and a university place can too easily become daunting and over-whelming. This is why I really am here to help with all parts of the process and I endeavour to do my very best for all my students.

Availability: Very flexible. Can be made available at any time. Looking to take on new students for this coming academic year.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have been tutoring for five years and this last year I have taken a gap year in order to tutor full time. I have so far tutored over 30 students at GCSE and A-Level in sciences and maths which translates to over 750 hours of private tutoring experience. Across the board they have progressed tremendously, gained great results (on average exceeding their target grade by two grades) and advanced their personal development.

Whilst I was still in school I held regular science and maths tutoring for five individual pupils for two years which really ignited my passion for tutoring. Additionally, I held group sessions for maths tuition for younger students at my school for three years to held and guide younger students.

The combination of my tutoring experience and personal knowledge of the process of performing well at exams allows me to really help my pupils flourish. Through my experience I have seen how consistent practice and under the correct instruction any student can progress in maths and the sciences.

Excellent maths knowledge for both gcse and A-level. Comes fully prepared for subjects she is asked to teach. Very flexible teaching style, slows down when they have not fully understood a topic.
