Information about Sarah
I am an experienced, patient tutor and have worked with children and adults of all ages from 4-50 for over 18 years. I work as an exam marker so have a detailed understanding of exam technique and the skills students need to demonstrate to get the best results.
Whether you would like to improve your English or need some extra help with school and are struggling to reach your potential or you just want to boost your skills and be the best you can, tutoring can help. With learning, one size does not fit all, I use my training in educational psychology, to properly understand what works best for each student and tailor lessons to their needs. I help students develop, boost their confidence and learn in a fun dynamic way.
During the first lesson I will assess the strengths and weaknesses, I will then plan lessons to focus on targeting these to improve skills and confidence. You will get regular feedback so you can see progress and I give tasks to work on between lessons so you can practice what you have learned and build your knowledge.
If you are working towards an exam it is important to prepare properly and we will work on exam preparation and practice papers with constructive tips on where to improve so we make sure you get the results you deserve.
Availability: I work online 9am-3pm and after school I do some days face to face with local students and some evenings are also online.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have been teaching and tutoring full time for 18 years, teaching a range students from primary school, through secondary, to A level and adults. I usually work one to one, but also do give small group lessons.
I have excellent results preparing students for ISLETS exams, 11+, GCSE, iGCSE, IB, A Levels and SATs and as an exam marker I have detailed knowledge of what examiners are looking for and ensure the students are fully prepared to ensure success.
I regularly run revision workshops for local schools and host intensive revision courses for 11+ GCSE and iGCSE.
I specialise in identifying key problem areas, then setting targets in order to improve development.
