I love to tutor all ages and abilities and have a great deal of experience both in stretching bright students to push their thinking outside the box and in offering support to any students who are struggling and to really help them build confidence and take pride in their work.

Availability: Some weekday evening slots available, but fill up quickly.

Daytime weekdays also available.

Occasional weekend availability.

Experience: I have recently retired from 35 years as an academic in the English Department at the University of Birmingham. However, more recently I have been teaching all levels from 7 years old to GCSE (including a lot of work with children preparing for the 11+ exam). My main strengths are, naturally, in English tuition, but I am also happy to tutor Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning for the 11+.
