As a teacher and a parent, I understand the difficulties and the stresses that can be associated with learning for some children. I have a degree in English and a Primary teaching qualification specialising in teaching Mathematics.
I believe that every child can succeed and I am a teacher who is passionate about helping every child to achieve their ability, breaking down the barriers that prevent them from doing this. I am patient and have a variety of strategies to engage different learners and their learning styles. I have a track record of engaging even the most reluctant student.

Availability: Weekday daytime and evenings from my property in Frimley or via Zoom worldwide.

Experience: I am a PGCE trained primary school teacher with classroom teacher experience in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I work with children who are Gifted and Talented, children with physical disabilities, speech and language delays and problems, challenging behaviour, dyslexia, global delay, working memory difficulties, ASD, ADHD, dyscalculia, English as an Additional Language and children who have missed elements of learning for a variety of reasons. I tutor all subjects across the Primary Curriculum and am able to adapt this to Home Educated children and their individual goals. (travel is possible for longer sessions with these students)
I have experience of tutoring children at GCSE level for English and the Foundations Maths paper as well as Functional Skills in English and Maths for children and adults. This is well supported by several years as a GCSE examiner.
I also have experience of mentoring trainee teachers and have provided online support and to others during their training.
