Information about Gabriela
I find Maths exciting and that`s contagious :-) I`m doing my best to motivate my students, gain and keep their interest in the subject by trying to teach beyond the constraints of the syllabus. The object is not only to pass their exams (and pass them well!), but also to inspire them to develop an inquisitive and analytical mind. After all, problem solving is a skill for life.
The lessons are tailored around each student, making use of their strengths and building on their prior knowledge.
Happy to answer any questions you might have during our first free lesson. An assessment is available - please allow an hour for this.
Update on 16th October 2015:
100% success on the Eleven Plus
Hats off to my wonderful kids who worked very hard to achieve this. I`m so proud!
Update on 18th April:
I`m sorry, but I don`t have any places available until the 1st September.
If you`re looking for lessons for the next academic year -whether it`s 11+ or GCSE- please register your interest. Thank you.
Update on 20th July: I`m sorry, all places for 2018-2019 have been taken. Thank you for your interest. Best wishes
Update on 7th June 2020: I have few places available. Looking forward to hearing from you
Few prospective parents have asked for an update on my students` results in the Eleven Plus exam this year (2021): all received scores between 220 and 236, so they should all be successful in gaining a place at their chosen school. This is a measure of the children`s ability, hard work and support from their parents, school and me. It is always a collective effort and chance plays a small part, as it always does with a one-day test, which measures a year (or more) worth of effort.
The results matter, but mostly as a measure of overall progress in children`s learning, whilst keeping them healthy, happy and confident. I hope you agree.
It doesn`t happen very often that all the kids pass the Eleven Plus, but every year all my GCSE students get their predicted grades and above.
