I am a graduate of geography and biology, with 17 years` experience of work in Learning Support at York College, during which time I qualified as a counsellor and completed several specialist courses such as in dyslexia awareness.
I also have a TESOL certificate and have worked with students from various cultures, including tutoring English at Queen Ethelburga`s school.
My tuition is student led, aiming to closely follow student needs and pace. I have a good rapport both with students and parents. I am reliable, punctual and professional.
Availability: Available most weekdays, daytime and evenings, based in Northallerton area. Tuition at tutor`s home or online. Weekend tuition by special arrangement.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have been a successful private tutor since 1997 and offer English and maths from primary level up to GCSE. I also offer biology and geography up to A level. I have experience of working with students who are dyslexic or have other learning difficulties/special educational needs. Additionally, I have a specialism in ESOL. I tutor to all the main English exam boards.

Clare is very focussed on ensuring my son gets the most out of the sessions, she takes time to ensure she knows exactly where he needs her to focus. She is also flexible with any requests to adjust times. Highly recommended

Clare is an excellent Geography tutor, my year 11 daughter finds her friendly, informative and really helpful. It is clear that she knows the course well and is very familiar and comfortable with the exam process. She has great ideas for exam answers and she focuses on and breaks down past paper questions in a way that is easy to comprehend and learn from. We are delighted to have Clare as a tutor and would definitely highly recommend her.

Clare was lovley however she was dry and read from a textbook and didn`t teach interactively. I found it extremely hard to learn.
