Information about Joanna
I have a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology (1st class) and over 18 years experience as Head of Department, teaching A Level Psychology in a school, as well as regularly tutoring one-to-one. I also have experience as an examiner for AQA (e.g. last year I was an examiner for Paper 1).
I believe it is important to tailor sessions to meet the specific needs of an individual student and so in the first session we spend time discussing their strengths and weaknesses in the subject. We identify which area(s) they would like to focus on in particular in sessions. This can be help in understanding the content, exam technique practice, understanding the mark schemes and/or developing revision skills. I provide tutees with clear, concise notes and use a large bank of exam questions, model answers and examiners feedback. Homework can be set and marked if tutees wish so that they get detailed feedback on their strengths and weaknesses.
I have been a Sixth Form tutor for 18 years and supported numerous students in writing their personal statements when applying to study Psychology at university. Many of my students have gone on to study Psychology at top universities. I can also offer practice interviews for Oxbridge applicants. Please enquire for further details.
