Sophie

I am a Chartered Psychologist specialising in children’s cognitive development, and in particular the development of mathematical skills.

I am positive, friendly and approachable with a strong academic background. I have 10 years experience working in Higher Education as a researcher and lecturer. Much of this time has been spent working with primary schools so I have a good working knowledge of the National Curriculum as well as a strong theoretical understanding of how we learn.

I enjoy using a variety of delivery methods and activities to engage learners of different backgrounds and ages.

I am delighted to offer personalised one-to-one tutoring in the following areas:

- Primary (KS1 / KS2 / SATs / 11+) - All areas of the curriculum, especially Mathematics and English
- A-Level and Degree Level - Psychology, Research Methods and Statistics, Dissertation writing

All my teaching materials and activities are tailored to the individual’s needs. My teaching style aims to enhance not only subject specific knowledge and skills, but general study skills that are important for learning in many areas. I seek to build confidence, enjoyment and positive attitudes towards learning.
