As an enthusiastic, patient, attentive individual who is passionate about teaching and learning, I find the process of passing on knowledge to others truly rewarding.
Furthermore, as someone who has been through school, GCSEs, A Levels and applying to medical school in the recent past, I am able to guide students who are going through the same steps and explain difficult concepts to them in a simple way which will facilitate understanding, and tailor the lesson based on the individual needs of the pupil.
My aims during sessions with the pupils will be to target the concepts which they are finding particularly difficult and build their understanding of the topic based on what they already know.
This, combined with consolidating the student`s knowledge against clear learning outcomes set at the start of each session, official specification objectives and past paper exam practice, will help the student to learn and progress effectively.
The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery. (Mark Van Doren)
