Information about Jennifer
Overview:
I have worked as a private tutor since 2010 and have assisted students reach their full potential no matter their initial ability. I tailor every lesson to the specific requirements and goals of the student so that they gain as much from the session as possible. I have vast experience with working with individuals from across the globe and in both informal and formal learning environments. For more details on this please refer to the experience section of my profile.
Experience:
I have experience in teaching young people and adults from primary school age through to masters level at university. My students come from a range of different backgrounds, nationalities and locations across the globe, including Britain, France, Japan, Africa, and Russia. Whilst I cannot guarantee success, the quality of my teaching has resulted in excellent overall rates, with my students getting into exclusive British schools, including Eton and Harrow in addition to higher education at Russell Group and Ivy League institutions. I also have experience in preparing and helping students to pass their IELTS, TOEFL, OET, and TOEIC.
I am able to offer tuition in a wide range of subjects including ESL/EFL, English, study skills, and entrance exams. I have experience in tutoring individuals with additional difficulties such as anxiety, dyslexia, visual stress, and ADHD. I teach using a range of learning skills in order to tailor the classes to provide a learning environment that is optimal to the tutees personal requirements. This allows them to maintain a high standard of learning and enables them to reach their full potential.
Along with working as a private tutor, I also have a wide breath of experience working with children, young people, and adults in both formal and informal learning environments. This includes working as: a youth worker for young people with additional and complex learning needs; a personal learning assistant and study skills tutor at several universities; and language and study skills tutor at several universities.
I am qualified in mental health assistance (including first aid) and have completed numerous teacher training modules (both at university and online). As such I`m also able to offer exam preparation for students which focuses on reducing their anxiety or exam worries (no matter how minor or major it is) so that they can perform at their best ability and with confidence on the day.
