Information about Bianca

I am interested in pursuing a career in education and in order to decide on which education based qualifications to take, I am looking to continue gaining experience of working in the role of a TA in school settings.

I have a Level 3 Diploma in Applied Sciences and a Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education in Biomedical Science. Also, I begun my Masters degree in Construction Management but after beginning the course realised that I prefer to work in education instead.

I am a proactive and conscientious practitioner who enjoys taking on responsibilities and roles in school and likes to show good support to other staff members. I am keen to develop my skills and take some education based qualifications after gaining more experience.

Availability: Available Monday to Fridays and Weekends.

Willing to travel: 15 miles

Experience: I have already gained 8 months of experience working in a primary school supporting the lower attaining children in Reception and Year 1. In this role I worked as an Intervention TA where I would plan and deliver lessons and activities to boost the progress of the lowest attaining 20% of children in each year group. I have also gained 2 months of recent experience working as a SEN TA in an SEN school with children with a range of SEND, including physical disabilities, ASD and speech, language and communication difficulties.

Due to my recent experience of working in an SEN school, I am aware of how to match the method or strategy that I use to meet a child`s needs and that it is vital to form a trusting relationship with the child before starting to work on developing learning. I am confident to use a range of resources and find that all children respond well to different kinds of visual resources.

To encourage positive behaviour, I like to focus on highlighting the correct behaviours and will award points and stickers to motivate children.

I have been in situations where a child has started to display challenging behaviour and knows that there will always be a reason behind this behaviour and that I need to find a way for the child to have the opportunity to regulate feelings by allowing them to express emotions in a safe manner.
