Hi, I’m Lily. I’m 18 and currently studying a MSc in Computer Science at Newcastle University. I have recently completed A-Levels in Maths, Physics and Computer Science. My academic journey has been fuelled by a passion for learning and a desire to help others excel, particularly those who may benefit from alternative teaching methods beyond traditional classrooms.

I, personally, was tutored throughout my A-Levels and this experience has inspired me to `pay it forward` and assist others who may require an assisted approach to learning.

During my own studies, through both GCSE and A-Level, I found exam preparation difficult. Through having a tutor myself I understood the approaches to take to better my ability through exam style questions, as well as under exam conditions. My solid foundation in mathematics, further expanded through my current university studies, equips me to support students in grasping complex concepts and honing problem-solving skills.

In my tutoring approach, I prioritise understanding the individual needs and goals of each student. In the initial introduction, I will assess the stage the child is currently working at as well as finding out what they wish to achieve through being tutored. By assessing their current level of understanding and aspirations upfront, I can tailor my teaching to optimise their learning experience and avoid any unnecessary time spent on irrelevant topics.

I`m dedicated to creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment where students feels able to reach their full potential. Whether it`s mastering challenging concepts or acing exams, I`m committed to helping students achieve their academic goals through personalised guidance and support.

Experience: I hold A-level qualifications in Maths, Physics, and Computer Science and am currently pursuing a Master`s degree in Computer Science at Newcastle University.

Prior to my university studies, I volunteered to assist GCSE-level maths students within my school community, broadening my skills in tutoring and fostering a passion for helping others achieve academic success.

Presently, I am actively tutoring two mathematics students, each at different levels. This hands-on experience allows me to continually refine my teaching techniques and adapt my approach to suit the unique learning styles and needs of each individual student.

As a Crew Trainer at McDonald`s, I hold a crucial role in ensuring that our team members receive high-standard training. Through this experience, I have cultivated a diverse set of teaching skills that enable me to deliver information effectively and facilitate learning in a dynamic environment. By utilising various teaching techniques and adapting my approach to accommodate different learning styles, I can ensure that every team member receives the support they need to succeed.
