I have always been passionate about sociology and its relevance to our everyday lives. As an enthusiastic tutor I enjoy providing students with the confidence, knowledge and skills to succeed. One of biggest strengths is my ability to explain abstract / theoretical ideas in a student friendly way. I believe in building strong theoretical foundations that enable students to connect various parts of the specification together (A02) and fully prepares them for the extensive rigours of A-level Sociology. I’m a friendly but focused professional who always looks to improve myself as well as my client’s skills.
I believe that holding discussions about sociological debates is the key to being able to confidently convey these within exam answers. I enjoy discussions and the role that they play in helping students understand that complex nature of numerous sociological debates. As well as discussion, I like to focus on exam technique and how to tackle the demands of many of the tricky questions you’re likely to face. I like to reference past questions, mark schemes and use resources including examiners reports to highlight the best strategies for success.

I believe that "whatever you put in you’ll get out". In order to benefit from our time my tutee must be committed to improving their understanding through hard work and will need to exercise discipline and motivation to gain the highest possible grade. In turn, I will support, encourage and give you my full commitment to help you achieve your goals. In addition to face to face, I ‘m also able to provide telephone and online support via skype.

I have extensive experience as a classroom room teacher and a proven history of achieving outstanding results. I’ve worked as an examiner for AQA for five years and possess intimate knowledge of the key skills students must execute to maximize their opportunity to achieve the highest grades.

Experience: I have years of experience as a classroom teacher and am currently Head of Social Sciences at the school I work at. I have extensive experience as an examiner for AQA and have been tutoring 1-2-2 privately for over five years.
