My experience on the instrument comes from many years performing on the UK folk circuit and from various trips to Eastern Europe. I specialise on the piano accordion in several styles including Celtic and British folk, klezmer, balkan (Serbian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Macedonian etc.), tango and french chanson. Information about Tommie

My name is Tommie and I am a passionate young musician. My own musical journey began age 7 on the piano with classical training. I hold a BA (Hons) in Music from SOAS, University of London, specialising in diverse selection of world musics from South Africa to India. Teaching I stay nearer to home - predominantly classical and folk music - but I also have extensive performance experience in jazz, rock, balkan, gypsy and klezmer.

Teaching is as much an art as producing music. Beyond the essentials of technique and confidence, I believe in nurturing artistic perception and control. Ultimately though, lessons are shaped around the student, following your own goals and ambitions to play the music you love.
