I am a qualified teacher with a strong academic record, including an English degree from Oxford University.

I`m passionate about learning and helping students achieve their potential. I also believe that learning should feel safe, fun and adventurous and that it`s a skill for life, not just for school.

FOR KS3, KS4 AND KS5 TUTEES:
I will first spend some time with the tutee doing some assessment work to find out where their strengths (very important!) are, as well as areas of opportunity for them. I`ll also spend some time working out how they learn and making them feel safe and a valued participant in the learning process.

I`ll then design a program of study for the agreed timeframe that I believe will raise the students attainment level (as well as addressing any other issues: e.g. confidence, exam technique) as efficiently as possible. I`ll try to make it an enjoyable, rewarding process as well!

FOR DEGREE LEVEL / ADULT LEARNERS / OXBRIDGE ENTRY:
We`ll spend some time discussing your objectives and timeframe and agree a program of study together to get you where you want to go: whether this is working on a particular piece of literature/literary period together, enhancing your soft skills for interview, or working on your literacy I can work with you to achieve your goals.

Experience: -I am a qualified teacher (with QTS). I have 2 years experience teaching English at KS3, KS4 and KS5 level in school. I have also taught Media Studies at KS4 and KS5 level. I have a strong track record of putting together programs of study that raise students` grades.

-I spent a year in Japan teaching English as a Foreign Language to young people and adults, in both classroom and 1-on-1 settings.
