Sophia ATCL

Sophia is presently studying classical saxophone under Kyle Horch at the Royal College of Music with a view to pursuing a career as a soloist;; her second study is the piano. She was a Music Scholar at Downe House School and Bryanston School. During her sixth-form years she performed regularly, giving a solo recital in preparation for her ATCL diploma, in which she gained a Distinction, and a performance of Alexander Glazunov’s Saxophone Concerto in E flat with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at the Lighthouse concert hall in Poole. In the past year at the Royal College of Music, she has given a solo recital, premiered Noble Gases for saxophone quintet by Andrew David Perkins, and worked with composers at the Royal College in the performance of other new works.

Sophia additionally has a Distinction in her Grade 8 violin and can tutor those learning music theory.
