__ About Me __
I am a Graduate from Manchester with a First Class Honours degree in Biomedical Science and A levels in Chemistry, Biology and Maths. After graduating I got a job in a Manchester based Web Hosting Company where I worked for 3 Years specialising in Server Deployment, customer service and the training and development of my team. Right now I looking to start my own business and spend more time focusing on my passions, one of which is the teaching of others to get the best out of them. I also wish to keep alight my passion for maths and science as these are both subjects that I have a genuine interest in.

__ My Story __
My time in education experienced one major dip, and that was during my A levels in which I ended up falling behind during my first year with maths. Lying to myself out of shame about just how bad the situation was, was how I decided to deal with it. It got to a point where I was predicted A`s for both Chemistry and Biology, and an E for Maths. I broke, and told my parents how deep I got got myself and they organised to get me a maths tutor.

My maths tutor, Edwin saved my A levels from the grave. If my parents, hadn`t had found him I would have got a U in maths and mediocre grades for the rest of my subjects as I would have futilely expended my efforts trying to pick up the pieces alone.

Looking back, my biggest mistake was that I never asked for help when I should have: my pride got in the way. With regards to my tutor Edwin, the only cost to me was not his hourly fee... but the time I had lost in not calling him earlier. Had I called him earlier I would have reached my potential far quicker and would not have had to sacrifice time dedicated for Chemistry and Biology to make up for my mathematical misjudgement.

I am eternally grateful for everything that Edwin did for me as without him I wouldn`t have made it into university. It is also because of him that I have been inspired to do this because I know first-hand what benefits a tutor can provide.

Experience: My one-to-one tutoring experience was most practiced during my time working at a Manchester-based Web Hosting Company. During my final 2 years I focused on the training and development of all new members to our team. In this I trained 8 new team members which involved working with them both one-to-one and on-the-job to get them up to speed to deploy IT Solutions for our clients and deliver excellent customer service.

While the field of IT is different to that of maths and the sciences, it is for these two subjects that I have a genuine passion. Additionally, the principles of effective teaching are the same regardless of the industry. A tutor must be engaging and passionate, have good subject knowledge and be able to communicate effectively with his or her student. It is important that a tutor know that the relationship between tutor and tutee is two-way and that it is about initiating a dialogue as opposed to a monologue in which information is just thrown at the student.
