Patient, caring, and determined to help every child succeed. With over 10 years teaching experience and further Learning Mentor experience, I aim to build children`s confidence whilst breaking down barriers to their own learning. The children in my class were very familiar with the phrase `Work hard - Play hard`, as I am a great believer that although we may not always find things easy, we can find a fun way to figure it out together!

Experience: I started my career as a Learning Mentor, helping children (and their families) uncover their barriers to learning and work through them, both academically and emotionally. I then became a Primary Teacher, where during 10 years I was fortunate enough to work with all age ranges from Rec-Y6. I have successfully led Y1 Phonics checks, KS1 Sats and KS2 Sats. I was responsible for leading Maths across the school, ICT and technology, as well as the creative subjects. I have worked closely with both children with SEN and also children who were capable and required a bigger challenge to be pushed further. I am also a Level 3 Forest Schools Leader which reflects my belief that all children can achieve when given the time and self belief.

I strongly believe in a positive behaviour managment strategy where children are praised for good and even the smallest achievents are celebrated. This not only builds self confidence, but also allows the child to build a positive association with `learning`.

I thoroughly enjoy finding unique and creative ways to engage and excite the children about learning through creative and technological means. Every child is different so needs a different approach, which isn`t always manageable within a class of 30+ children. One to One tuition allows the time for your child to have full attention to their needs.

I love having the opportunity to work with children who find aspects of normal every day schooling a challenge for whatever reason that may be, and thus, utilise my skills as both a Learning Mentor and an experienced creative and innovative Teacher to help them to achieve their best and beyond.
