Information about Julia
I am a primary school teacher of 33 years. I have taught all of the primary age groups from Reception to year 6. I have held positions of responsibility in many schools including deputy head. I have led on Literacy, including being a leading Literacy teacher for the county of Cambridge. I have also led on creating a creative curriculum and have designed curriculums with subject leaders to meet new requirements.
I have a great rapport with all children and always try to identify the best way to unlock their capabilities. I am creative, fun and patient yet I set high goals for each child. I celebrate their successes and identify with them their next steps. I encourage each child to take responsibility for their own learning encouraging them to reflect on what they do, assess it and identify what they need to do to take it to the next level.
I am taking a break from full time teaching and would like to explore again the world of tutoring, having done it many years ago when I first entered teaching.
Availability: 4pm onwards most evenings and Saturday mornings if needed
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: 33 years as a primary school teacher including teaching in an International school and being a deputy head.

Julia is a very experienced and fantastic teacher, and both my boys have taken to her very quickly. She is really enthusiastic, and seems to be able to get the best out of them. Both boys look forward to her coming each week and are very eager to impress her due to the way she encourages them. She also invites me as their mum to sit in on their lessons, which helps me understand her teaching techniques and enforce what the boys have learnt and continue to encourage them. I would highly recommend Julia, shes lovely and I am really pleased we found her.
