Hi, my name is Rebecca and I have set up my own tutoring business which has been going since 2011. I help support primary, secondary and adult learners. I am a creative tutor who enjoys helping others become knowledgeable and understand Mathematics, English, Art and Art History. I have experience teaching students to read through synthetic phonics programmes and Mathematics up to GCSE foundation level. I recently gained QTS with a Special Educational Needs speciality. I am currently completing my ECT year whilst teaching and I regularly work with neurodivergent students. I have experience working with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, PDA, SLCN etc.

Tutoring times include school holidays, bank holidays and Christmas holidays.
Please contact me if you need a particular time. Lessons are booked on a first come first serve basis.
Please note there are some days I am closed (for religious reasons)
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I worked with Maths Doctor between 2011 and 2017 providing on-line tuition in Mathematics at primary and secondary levels as part of a busy team. This has led to setting up my own business for student demand. I have experience of providing support for 11+, foundation GCSE (including iGCSE, EdExcel and AQA exam boards mainly at foundation level) and SATs examinations (Key Stages 1, 2 and 3). The position has involved assisting gifted and talented, Special Educational Needs and Disabled students and low ability pupils.
Before this I was employed for 3 years in a local primary school helping mixed ability pupils learn to read through phonics, spelling and comprehension and kinesthetic learning. I also taught Numeracy in group and one-on-one sessions. This involved becoming knowledgeable of various learning programmes and thinking creatively to meet students needs. During this time I also tutored students privately offering home tuition.
Between June and July 2010, I participated in a Student Associate Scheme assisting and supporting art and technology teachers in a local high school. I have led an Aim Higher session encouraging Key Stage 4 pupils to develop professionally by going to University and to continue to aspire.
2007-2009 as a Student Leader for a Young People`s University, I instructed Key Stage 4 pupils, at an Academy, in art activities to maintain an ASDAN award. I also worked within a team environment providing assistance to other team leader sessions. Through Key Stage 3 summer schools I have directed art activities (including "Team T-shirts" and "What is Art?"), additionally supporting students discover the right course. I have also demonstrated and taught jewellery making to 150 pupils in the past.
More recently, for a very short time I worked with The Independent Art School offering Art History lessons on-line. I was self-employed tutoring in conjunction with Think Tuition (also known as Credo) and supported students through Super Tutors. I also worked as a supply teaching assistant with PK Education and Protocol.
I currently work as a Special Needs Teacher with Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) in a SEN School teaching Primary National Curriculum. I am currently working towards my Early Career Teacher (ECT). In 2023, I completed a Level 3 Award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities and a Level 5 Teacher`s Apprenticeship. In 2022, I completed a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training and in 2021 a qualification in the National Tutoring Programme. In 2020, I gained a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Award.
As well as teaching in my spare time I tutor. I feel my SEND experiences and love for creative learning, supporting established schooling in new, innovative ways will hopefully offer students a renewed love for education.

Rebecca tutors both of my children and is absolutely incredible. She is able to flex her style, engage with them and keep their attention for the virtual sessions - I would highly recommend Rebecca

Rebecca is a wonderful tutor, she is very kind, gentle, supportive and motivating. My daughter enjoys her sessions and her confidence with Maths is growing, her school teachers have noticed too. Rebecca is helping my year 6 daughter to get ready for her SATs. My daughter has dyslexic tendencies and Rebecca teaches in a way that works well for her. We are very glad we found Rebecca.
