Aaron

Hello, I`m Aaron! I`m a friendly and experienced tutor for 11+ and 13+ exams, and for English, Biology and Drama exams in both England (GCSE, AS, A-Level) and Scotland (Nat 5, Scottish Higher, Adv Higher).

I enjoy and excel at helping others to learn and enjoy learning. I take a patient and friendly approach to teaching that empowers tutees to strengthen their independent learning skills, and believe in their abilities. Importantly, I work collaboratively with tutees to develop a tailored learning approach that meets their learning style and individual goals, and that challenges them right away. Encouraging independence and confidence as early as we can is always a key goal, alongside making sure that every student feels comfortable, supported, and is enjoying lessons!

Availability: I am not available on Saturdays, and I am particularly looking for students for Sundays from 11:30am into the afternoon. I also have availability in the early evenings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I have a breadth of paid and voluntary experience with 11+, 13+, English, Biology, and Drama, having worked for over 2 years as a private tutor in all of these subjects. I have training for and extensive experience with tutoring SEND students, including students with autism and ADHD.

I have volunteered as a reading tutor for a year, and hold a Saltire Award for 1 year of volunteering as a teaching assistant in secondary schools. I’m also a film writer, and have worked as a copy editor.

I have also worked as a marine ecologist and as a fellow at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. This has given me valuable real-life research experience, and also involved leading Biology workshops and lectures with groups ranging from age 11 to adult professional biologists.
