Information about Nandita
Hello! My name is Nandita and I have just completed my undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Hertford College, University of Oxford. I completed my GCSEs at Mayfield Grammar School (Gravesend) and my A-levels at Westminster School (London).
Availability: Very flexible - I can work to your timetable!
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I believe that my strength as a tutor lies primarily in my empathy in my ability to understand the motivations and unique needs of my student, and tailor lessons accordingly. Previous roles involving mentoring students of all ages have developed this skill considerably. I also believe that my ability to break down complex concepts and ideas into easy and understandable chunks will be invaluable, both in terms of learning the subject matter as well as in understanding the right boxes to tick with exam questions.
I have now amassed over 50 hours of tutoring experience. My most common lessons are GCSE maths, 11+ maths and Oxford interview preparation (for Philosophy, Politics and Economics), although I am comfortable tutoring in all subjects listed above and am open to any special requests.
Previous mentoring experience includes:
- Acting as a young leader at a girl guiding unit throughout sixth form
- Conducting outreach work for Oxford University, where I advised applicants on their personal statements, and worked to build interview confidence
- Managing a team of 20 undergraduate students from the University of Nottingham, as part of a Bank of England research project in my intermitted year at University. I recruited, trained and managed these students, who were working part time alongside their studies.
A-level Grades: A*AAA in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and English Literature
GCSE Grades: 11A* grades in Maths, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, History, French, Spanish, Religious Education and Information Technology. I achieved the highest GCSE grades in my year at school.
