Information about Nicholas

As a qualified teacher and ambassador of the Teach First Leadership Development Programme, I have had significant experience of leading, teaching, mentoring and developing children’s aspirations and attainment in a range of circumstances.

A French, German and English as a foreign language specialist with over five years teaching experience in a range of contexts, I have a proven capability of successfully supporting students through both public examinations and school entrance examinations, particularly in situations where students are reticent or apprehensive about language study. Having taught privately, in the public sector and abroad, I have extensive experience teaching to current UK exam specifications and teaching younger cohorts towards new specifications coming in 2017, as well as preparation towards IELTS and EFL qualifications. Equally, I have in depth experience of teaching literacy and numeracy to students with a range of DSEN needs and EAL needs in a sensitive manner, particularly autism, MLP and SPLD. In the latest rounds of GCSE examinations (2016), the results of the students that I taught rose by a minimum of two grades.

Having been noted as being “calm, conscientious and committed” in recent observation feedback, I am confident that I am able to provide a strong platform off of which your child can achieve the grades they are capable of in a supportive and inspirational environment to spur them on.
