Information about Marta
I hold a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Liverpool. I have a wide range of experience teaching chemistry for GCSE, A-level and degree level students.
I am also passionate about languages. Six years ago I moved from Barcelona to the UK to study my PhD and that is when I started teaching Spanish from absolute beginners up to advanced level (from A1 to C2 level according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
Availability: Weekdays from 5.30pm.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I am a detailed-oriented professional tutor with a solid 4 years of experience teaching maths and chemistry at various levels (listed above). I taught more than 50 students in preparation for their GCSE and A-level examinations in chemistry and maths. Last year, most of my students achieved an A or A* grade in chemistry. In parallel, I have 3 years of tuition experience helping chemistry and pharmacy degree students with assignments and exams.
In 2018, I worked as a GCSE maths and chemistry tutor in two different tuition centres in Liverpool (Pulse-Education place and Askademia). During that time, I conducted one-to-one and small group (up to 5 students) lessons. I assisted my students with exam preparation, homework support and study organisation. Apart from preparing the course contents and material for each lesson, I also prepared mock exams and evaluation tests to assess students progress.
During my PhD, I was involved in different teaching duties at the University of Liverpool. I participated in chemistry workshops and lab modules mentoring undergraduate students. Additionally, I worked as a study assistant for disabled students helping them with study organisation and counselling.
Additionally, I have taught Spanish to students of different ages for the past 3 years. My lessons involve a wide range of levels, from absolute beginners to advanced level (including GCSE and A-level students). I design a learning plan tailored to each individual. My goal is to strengthen their communication skills in Spanish in a short period of time.
I believe that tutoring is more than teaching a subject. My aims are to help students to develop more effective study skills and to increase their confidence by guaranteeing there are no knowledge gaps. I am very passionate about chemistry and I always try to transfer this enthusiasm to my studen
